24 Hour Road Trip
Dateline Sunday April 11, 2010
April is truly the best time to visit Las Vegas. The weather is fantastic. Saturday the temperature was lovely 75 with a slight breeze. The city was not too crowded and we were able to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Las Vegas.
I did record a couple of videos that were posted to YouTube. One in front of the new Aria Hotel at City Center and the other in front of the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel.
The drive up to Vegas on Friday evening was typical. 1 1/2 hours to get out of LA. The remainder of the trip over 200 miles took just 3 hours…The return trip on Saturday night was the usual 4 hours arriving home at midnight.
Check out one of the videos…
Old Man in the Room
You know I really don’t consider myself old. Well, not until I go up to my son’s school to pick him up or to another function. Here I am a fairly young looking 47 but at the school I always feel like I’m 75 years old.
Mind you, Dezmond is 7 years old and in the second grade. Most of the parents of second graders are in their late 20s or early 30s. Here I am the old man in the room!
I wonder if when graduation comes around whether he will still tell folks I’m his dad. Or will he just ignore me as though I’m not there hoping no one will ask him…
Just wondering!
Til later,
Gary B.
Homework. Argh!
So here I am. 47 year old internet entrepreneur. Dad of 2. Father of 1. The youngest is 7 years. Yes you read correct. 7 years old. Dezmond Alan Bowles, my 40th birthday present from God. As posted some time ago, Abraham and Sarah had a son.
So where am I going with this? Glad you asked. How many of you who are as old as me are smarter than a second grader. I am reminded daily just how not smarter than a second grader I am. Adverbs, Adjectives, Proper nouns, Conjunctions, Predicates just to name a few of the subject that dad has to read the directions of the homework for prior to checking to see if the homework is correct.
Whats a brother to do? I guess I’ll just go back to second grade with my son. Perhaps I will learn a little something along the way.
Til later,
Gary B.
Thawt it would never happen!
Here is God’s 40th birthday present to me. After 13 years of marriage the Lord blessed our union with the young Mr. Dezmond Alan Bowles. Say hello to Dezmond.Sara and Abraham had a child.
Yikes! I’m going to be reeeaaalll old when he graduates from High School. He’ll be telling everybody we’re his grandparents.
Greetings from the Grand Canyon
Hey folks, this trip was over 1 year ago but it was such a wonderful trip that I thought I would bring it back to the future. Remember the Bob Newhart show? On that show was a character named Larry who had two brothers both named Larry. Well guess what, I’m Larry (Gary) and I have two brothers both named Kevin. Go figure!Gary, Kevin, and Kevin at the Grand Canyon. Started and finished the weekend trip in Las Vegas. We had such a time and we cannot wait to get back and do it over again.
Hello world!
What an appropriate title for my first post on my new blog. What I hope to chronicle and discuss with you is my life as an internet entrepreneur. My goal is to share EVERYTHING from A-Z as it relates to my experience in all things from Internet Marketing to MLM and beyond.
Perhaps we’ll even see the family play their part. As an example, while I’m writing this first post Dezmond is sitting across from me eating dinner and watching a cartoon. Aaron just walked in and popped him with his new walking stick. Why does Aaron have a walking stick? Glad you asked…He wrenched his knee a few days ago playing basketball.
I hear Teresa in the back room laughing at Sinbad doing his stand-up comedy routine. Now that you have met the family, let the games begin.
One thing I promise is to provide value and content that will hopefully be useful to all of us…you and me both.
Well now that you have been introduced to the family I will sign off for this first post and get my valuable content in order.
